Welcome to Travel ➕Explore ➕Play with Sallee Jay where I am your host. To all my Jay’s I hope you are soaring and flying high.
It’s my favorite month of the year, my birth month. As I reflect back over my life, I’m reminded of my teenage years. It was during this time I traveled the most given that my parents lived in different states. Go back with me as I relive my days as a teenager sharing time between in Los Angeles and Denver.

Welcome to travel ➕explore ➕ play with SalleeJay where I am your host. Hopefully, by now you’ve settled very nicely into 2021 🤡😛🥴.
In all seriousness, I have a really good feeling about this year. To start, I’ll be pushing more content out to you guys. Be sure to connect with me on all social media platforms @SalleeJay.
I also want to be more intentional about my readership and community this year, so feel free to comment, like and DM me! Let’s get to know one another and really foster a sense of community because at the end of the day that’s what this social media thing is all about. 😏
I think I’ll call our community “The Jays”…
Free spirited, life long learners and lovers of life amongst other things. Think of yourself like the rare and majestic jay birds such as a Bluejay, Whisky Jack Jay or my personal favorite the Stellar Jay.
So Jays…. 🦅 (I like how that sounds 😌)
One of my new delights of the new year is #TravelTipTuesdays.
Let me know how you guys are enjoying these tips, and please provide any suggestions on tips that you may have that relate to travel or travel exploration.
Be on the lookout every third Thursday of the month for a new blog! I want to make sure that we are connecting at least once a month. 💋
Sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss a beat.
Also, be on the lookout as I begin to plan to travel for my last birthday in my 30s. If all goes according to plan, I will be headed to Southwest Colorado to enjoy in some of natures divine glory. This will also be an opportunity for me to continue to strategize my blog and business for the new year to make sure that I am providing the best possible experiences and content for my very special Jay’s. I’m excited to begin the planning process that will allow me to connect with more of you all over the world, throughout the world.
I also plan to host a retreat in the fall for four very lucky and amazing women. Women who want to travel ➕ explore ➕ play with SalleeJay in Colorado, while learning from and healing with very talented, thought leaders and facilitators for three day healing. I’m talking about a full three day juice detox, yoga, new experiences and adventures in nature and so much more.
Again, thank you so much for rocking with me for all of 2020. I’m excited to connect with more of you in the new year, and to grow and increase my readership.
So in advance, hello 👋🏾 to all my new Jay’s. Let’s fly high and soar to new heights.

Holiday Traditions the COVID way.
Welcome to travel + explore + play with SalleeJay where I am your host. Today we are going to explore and play with the idea of new holiday traditions.
Like so many of you, my Thanksgiving looked much different this year. While I still was able to have an amazing time, not being able to bring in the holiday with family can be difficult adjustment for anyone to make.
That’s why I am writing to suggest a couple of different ways to bring in the Christmas holiday with friends and family.
First up, have a family dinner via zoom. I know RIVETING‼️ Now if you’re like me,eating online with others is strange and not very much fun. So why not switch it up, and cook as a family. For families that are close, you can all cook different dishes online together and then arrange to do a drop off at various family members homes so that you are all sharing in the same meal and everyone had a part in preparing it. Have fun, and create a menu. Also, try something new that you’ve never tried before, out with traditional Christmas dinner and in with new worldly dishes your family can experience and explore. This is a fun and contactless way to still be able to enjoy some of your holiday favorites with the very people that you love, while maintaining social distancing.
Next on my list, is family game day. I have had the opportunity to host and participate in a couple of virtual game days that have been an absolute blast. Whether you are playing bingo, Jeopardy, trivia, scramble or a game that you’ve made up as a family, what is most important here is that you are sharing in fun moments with people that you love.
Lastly, have a gratitude gift exchange. This is where you tell family members via zoom all of the ways in which you are grateful for them. So many times we are focused on material things when really the focus of Christmas is family and love. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to tell loved ones how much you care for them, in my opinion that is the perfect gift!
I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday and a Merry Christmas with your family and friends. Until the new year be merry and bright.
Foreign Exchange: My Introduction to the World 🗺
During COVID-19 and prior to the murder of George Floyd, I posed the question on my social media channels, “would you host an exchange student post the pandemic?” And the answer was overwhelmingly, NO! I want you to reconsider. 🧐
