If one is lucky in life, they are able to make 2 or 3 really good friends. It’s even better when those friends become family. Allow me to introduce you to one of those people in my life, Rachel Nava. Recently, we traveled to Nola to celebrate my longtime sister-friend affectionally dubbed “Chacon” for her 50th birthday and 5th wedding anniversary and we had a blast.
Rachel and I met when we worked together almost 20 years ago and have always managed to stay in touch. She is a rare and beautiful soul and the epitome of a true friend.
I know the title of this blog sounds like a festival lineup!

TODAY is a throwback blog in which I detail one of my funniest travel experiences to date. It involves a trip to Dallas, Erykah Badu and lost rental vehicle… I stumbled upon this email that I sent to family and friends after the trip and was instantly taken back to that crazy weekend.
Like many of you, I could not wait for opportunities to reunite with family and friends as Covid restrictions began to be lifted across the country and I received my vaccination. So when my bestie called and said let’s go to Charleston, SC, we booked an Airbnb and prepared for an amazing week of girl time.
